My Story

Hello, I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Tammy Lautner, founder and owner of Peace of Mind Consulting. These photos are of the most important people in my life, including one I especially treasure of me with my dad. I’m incredibly grateful that both of my parents, now in their 90s, are doing well and still live in my childhood home.

Letting someone into your life, your home, and your personal experiences takes a great deal of trust. That’s why I want you to know a little about me before you decide to reach out.

This business is a reflection of who I am and the values I live by. I take pride in the quality of my work and in providing thoughtful, consistent support to every person I work with. I believe deeply in keeping my word—it’s something that feels more rare these days, but it still matters to me. My goal is to build a real relationship with you, one where you feel seen, supported, and confident in trusting me with your concerns.

I’m a Registered Social Worker with over 20 years of experience supporting seniors and their families. My passion is helping people navigate the many ups and downs that come with aging and supporting a family member. Whether you're supporting an aging parent or figuring out what comes next, I’m here to walk alongside you through it. My professional background is only part of the story. What truly drives me is the connection I get to build with the families I support.

Over the years, I’ve worked in various seniors’ residences and have led community development initiatives to create programs and services tailored to older adults and their caregivers. I’ve also advocated for seniors' needs at all levels of government.

To stay current and connected in my field, I actively participate in several organizations in Alberta:

  • I serve on the Edmonton Seniors Coordinating Council’s Ageism Committee

  • I’m part of the Caregiver-Centred Care Co-Design Team, working to develop Alberta’s provincial caregiver strategy

  • I sit on the Board of Directors for both the Alberta Association on Gerontology and the Canadian Association of Health Advocates

  • I’m also a member of the Disciplinary Committee for the Alberta College of Social Workers

I was born and raised in Edmonton. I have two grown daughters and two grandsons who fill my heart. I live with my partner, our three cats and our dog, Buddy. I’ve been a proud Oilers fan all my life and love spending time at our lake lot during the summer.

If you have any questions or just want to talk things through, I’d love to hear from you. I look forward to learning about your story and exploring how I can help.
